The Pine Soil and Water Conservation District has food plot equipment available to rent to help landowners maintain wildlife plots on their property. This equipment was all donated by various local conservation clubs, knowing that making this equipment available to county citizens will benefit more wildlife. This equipment is intended to be used by a larger 4x4 ATV or small utility tractor, and includes a small field disc, broadcast seeder and drag harrow. The wildlife plot equipment program will be overseen by the Pheasants Forever Farm Bill Biologist, Shayna Vendela and is rented out of the SWCD office in Sandstone. Reservations are taken on a first come first serve basis by contacting our office at 320-216-4240. The package rents for $80/weekday and $225/weekend. Rental includes a trailer to transport the equipment. A 2" ball is required to connect to the trailer; a 1 7/8" ball is required to connect to the equipment.
This equipment is suitable for planting already established plots up to 3 acres, it is not intended to be used to create new food plots and is not suitable to do so.
