Estate Planning Workshop for Landowners
When:Please Join us in conjunction with Wild Rivers Conservancy to talk about Estate Planning and what your next steps could be!
The need for an estate plan is becoming ever more important as the average age of woodland owners increases and younger generations become less willing than ever to take over the land and the forest management that goes along with it. In this workshop, we will have experts who specialize in landowner-focused estate planning share their tips on planning goals, issues, and considerations for landowners. This event will help attendees create a plan for their land, giving you control over the legacy of your property. Topics covered will include: Steps to how to get started with an estate plan Guidance on how to navigate difficult conversations with your successors Explanation of the different options available to you Testimony from landowners who have been through the estate planning process Paid methods on how to permanently protect your land from development Legal guidance on taxes, wills, and power of attorney and more! Come to this workshop with your family and questions; leave this workshop with the information, connections, and next steps you need to make your land legacy goals a reality. Please join MNWWN, Wild Rivers Conservancy, UMN Extension, Pine County SWCD, Minnesota Land Trust, The Trust for Public Land, and Eklund Law for a rare opportunity to attend a Conservation Based Estate Planning Workshop for Landowners. The last time an in-depth workshop like this was held was pre-2020.
