NEW THIS YEAR!!! We are going to be offering plant plugs and seed mixes this year! They will be on a separate order form but will be sent out at the same time as the Tree and Shrubs order form.  If you would like these forms, please reach out to the number or email listed below. Tree Bundles we offer: (all bundles can change each year, including the species within the bundle.) For 2027, our unofficial bundles are listed below. The species within the bundle will be decided in October. The species will be selected from the species listed after each bundle name. All bundles will have a maximum of 5 species.

Ash Replacement Bundle - This can consist of Silver Maple, Hackberry, Swamp White Oak, Black Spruce, Cottonwood-Male, White Pine, or Bur Oak, or any wet tolerant species.

Conifer Bundle - This can consist of White Spruce, White Pine, Red Pine, Balsam Fir, Tamarack, Jack Pine, or White Cedar.

Hardwood Bundle - This can consist of Sugar, Red, and Silver Maples, Red, Bur, White, and Swamp White Oaks, Paper Birch, and Black Cherry.

Wildlife Bundle - This can consist of any species of tree and shrub that wildlife utilizes. (It will always have a thermal component and a food component)

Forager Bundle - This can consist of berry and/or nut producing shrubs and trees like Black Chokeberry, Nannyberry, Elderberry, American Plum, Juneberry, Arrowwood, American Hazelnut, and Black Cherry.

Specific Details of our Tree Program:

• Orders are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Full payment is required and must be included with the order form to reserve your trees & shrubs.
• Orders cannot be taken online. Print out the form, fill it out and mail it to us with your check. When mailing, it takes 2+ days from when you mail your form, for us to get it. Please send in your form as soon as possible to reserve your choices. If you do not want to mail your form, you can stop in our office to drop off the form and payment.
• If paying with a check, make it out to Pine SWCD.
• If you would like to pay with cash or are unable to print an order form, stop in at our office located in Sandstone.
• All bundles contain 25 bare root trees or shrubs.  Please order by bundles; we cannot split them.
• The SWCD reserves the right to substitute sizes and stock if needed.
• Price per bundle includes tax.
• All orders must be paid in full when ordering.
• Tree orders will be available for pick-up in late April/early May. 
• A 5% charge will be added to all orders not picked up during the published pickup dates & times.
• Early pick-up is not allowed. Orders can only be picked up during the specified times and locations.
• Because of the perishable nature of trees & shrubs, the SWCD is not responsible for their condition after being picked up by customers or if picked up after scheduled dates.
• Deadline to cancel an order is March 1st.  Any order cancelled after that date will forfeit the cost.

Please note:
¨ Species that grow over 15 feet at mature height should not be planted under power lines.
¨ When planting along roadways, always remember to keep your trees out of the road right of way.

Pickup Location:  
Pickup will be at 1602 Hwy 23 North, Sandstone, MN 55072, in the pole shed behind (east of) the North Pine Government Center. 

Directions to the tree pick-up site: Pickup Location
From the North: Head south on I-35. Take the Askov exit. Take a right off the exit ramp, onto Hwy 23. Turn left at the T. Go approximately 2.5 miles. Turn left at the North Pine Government Center. Drive back to the tan pole shed on the right.

From the South:  Head north on I-35. Take the Sandstone exit. Take a right off the exit ramp. Continue down Hwy 23 to the stop sign. Turn left at the stop sign. Go approximately 0.5 miles. Turn right at the North Pine Government Center. Drive back to the tan pole shed on the right.
